Big oversized blazers and exaggerated shoulderpads have been in since last season, and continue to be seen on red carpets and online. Despite my love for trends and different fashion choices, I’m not brave enough to try them all. However, I’m willing to go for muted verisions of most daring trends at least once.
This week’s star of the show is undoubtedly this bold red blazer. I absolutely love chic casual outfits that one can rock regardless of their style or the time of day/night. Sure, this is not necessarily a “going-out” look, but add a little clutch and high heels then you’re good to go.
Just like exaggerated shoulders and dad sneakers, mum jeans haven’t really been my favourite on me personally, but I do appreciate a high-wasted and comfortable cut for everyday jeans, as well as a light eighties wash with distressed hems, cue this nice pair that I’ve had for ages and continue to grab whenever the weather is lovely enough for bare ankles.
An all red look can sometimes be an overkill for some, but not for me. With that being said, my mantra for that would either be monochromatic from head-to-toe so you can be seen from afar, or go for pops of red here and there, but definintely don’t add so much red with no neutrals but a pair of blue jeans, that’s too unbalanced to pull off, unless you’re Rihanna, then by all means wear whatever you want queen and lead the way.
