Liebster Award

Thank you so much for the nomination Roadtobecomingroda, it’s such a nice way to network as well as get to know and support other bloggers.

In all honesty, reading other people’s blogs is not something I often do unless it’s a very good one. Back in the day, when I didn’t know one could make a career out of blogging, I used to enjoy Dutch blogs such as Cynthia.nl (fka Miss Lipgloss) and Beautygloss. However, nowadays I highly enjoy and get inspired by the beautiful shots and creative writing of heavyweights Lydia Elise Millen,In The Frow and Samantha Maria to name a few.

• What other name would you give your blog?

I knew I wanted to incorporate my name in the title somehow, so I chose Aminesque but quickly discovered it was already taken (thanks Amine, whoever you are). After that, as I watch Wendy Williams religiously (#GuiltyPleasure) and she came up with the term “Wendyfied” I decided to go for that as well.

• What is the best thing you’ve gotten out of your blog?

Personally, blogging makes me leave the house more often during weekends to shoot outfits instead of spending an entire weekend in bed and feeling miserable. Finding new places to shoot at and trying new things in order to post reviews help push me out of my very tight comfort zone, which is a huge bonus.

• Dream holiday destination?

This is so cliché but I’d love to go somewhere exotic and beautiful like Fiji, Turks and Caicos, or the Maldives.

• What is your biggest weakness?

Funny how you say “biggest”, because I know I have several. I’d say my fear of change, which is definitely something I’m trying to work on but is extremely hard to overcome. As much as I love new challenges and exploring new things, I also like having a comfortable routine that only I can control. My personality is pretty contradictory which is something I try not to dwell on for obvious reasons.

• Funniest memory/story?

Fun fact about me: I absolutely hate telling jokes unless it’s in a sarcastic way, cus I can’t take the awkwardness of flat jokes. So although I have loads of funny stories and memories with my close friends that have endless inside jokes, I don’t really think they’re funny to others as, to me, being funny is subjective.

• What blog post spent the longest time in your draft/trashed area and why?

I have a video of a turban tutorial that I couldn’t upload as I have to upgrade my plan to be able to post any videos.

• Why do you blog?

I feel like blogging or posting videos gives me purposes. I have a 9-5 job (it’s actually 7-4 but you know what I mean) which can become boring quite quickly. Also, I’m a creative person and in need of a creative outlet, so blogging and posting videos on YouTube kind of fulfil that.

• Favourite tv show/movie?

Anyone who knows me would know how obsessed I’am with movies. I would love to witness the whole process of making an entire move one day. As I’m a bit indecisive, I can’t pick one movie or show, so I’ll give you a few:

Fave movies: Chicago, La La Land, Deadpool, Burlesque, all the Bourne movies, Mission Impossible movies, Mean Girls, She’s The Man, Bridesmaids, Masterminds and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to name a few.

Fave shows: Breaking Bad, Gossip Girl, Sex & The City, Girls, Divorce, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, True Detective and Secrets & Lies to name a few.

• What made you make a blog?

I initially thought about starting a YouTube channel (I actually did but I’m not that active  on there, yet) but as was new to the social media world and still shy, I though I’d ease my way into it by blogging and then see where that goes. I also wanted to do something with fashion, beauty and travel online so a blog seemed like a good idea.

• If you could have one super power what would you choose?

Being an eloquent, less awkward, humble yet confident and well put-together human being in all aspects of my life, and yes, I consider that to be a super power as nobody is that way in real life.
