This week I’m sharing the “safe outfit” I have that gets me out of a fashion rut whenever I get into one. We’ve all been there, nothing gives us inspiration, everything we have in our closet looks outdated and our bank balance doesn’t allow us to shop until we drop, or we’re just too late for work/school and can’t go out in our undies. Therefore, we have that basic outfit we automatically throw on, whether it’s a white tee and jeans, a smart button-down and trousers, or, in my case, the good old Canadian Tuxedo as fashionistas like to call. The casual denim on denim look is something I know will look good without the need to think about it for too long, and it never goes out of fashion.
The denim look consists of pieces that everyone is bound to have in their wardrobe. Add a duster coat during hot days or a basic trenchcoat during colder ones and you’re good to go. Accessories are optional and can help jazz it up a bit, but you can definitely keep it basic with no belt or flashy pieces for an effortless look, which is such a cool outfit as well.
I chose to put all my pins on the breast pockets of my denim button-down because I’m currently obsessed with them, and to also add some colour which I’m quite fond of. I threw on my light sleeveless button-down to satisfy my love of layering and for some cover.
