First and foremost, Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating around the world! May allah accept our good deeds and bless us all.
This week’s look includes what may be my favourite accessory this month, which is a pair of baby pink statement earrings I’ve made myself. Eversince H&M came out with those cute drop earrings (obviously inspired by the Arab culture) that every turban-wearing fashionista seemed to have on Instagram, I knew I had to get me a pair. I’ve looked in the H&M shops available in Morocco but they were all sold out. Therefore, when I’ve paid a little visit to the souks here in Rabat and found the original pompoms that we actually use in curtains or traditional dresses that H&M used as earrings, I knew I could DIY a pair that I could finally call my own.
Baby pink can be combined with so many colours, from navy blue to grey, as well as stripes or even polka-dots. However, to keep my outfit from looking too chic and fancy for daytime, and to keep the focus on the earrings, I’ve decided to wear a somewhat distressed pair of jeans, a white tee and layer my long grey cardigan over a striped button-down. I love layering unexpected pieces, it gives you a unique look.
To finish it off, I’ve decided to defy the heat and actually wear my metallic brogues. You know what they say, one has got to suffer for fashion, or did I just come up with that?
Turban – Pashmina / Sunglasses – Gucci / Earrings – Made them myself / White shirt – H&M / Button-down – Shana / Cardigan – Kiabi / Jeans – Primark / Brogues – Zara.
