Emerald Dream

Kicking off winter season in full force, although it’s been winter for a while now and the weather in these photos looks more like summer because we’re in Africa, I’m delighted to introduce a whole new colour to my wardrobe, namely emerald green.

As most of you know, I’m a very indecisive person which means that I love all colours equally. However, there is something dreamy about colours that most people don’t find a name for right away, unless you’re into fashion or art and you have a slight OCD about naming each colour correctly that you look them up and memorise them just in case (moi). Colours that are typically mermaid-like but also remind you of a forest on a gloomy winter day, that’s truly magical if you were to ask me.

Eversince I lay eyes on this gorgeous satin skirt, with its chic draping and sophisticated slit that goes just high enough for it to still look appropriate during the day, I knew it had to go home with me. Finding a matching top turned out to be way easier than expected though.

I bought a mint green rollneck to go with the skirt, but found another top that could also match and chose that for this specific shoot. The scarf was a gift I received years ago but couldn’t really find an outfit to wear it with, luckily these pieces came along and the scarf was put into good use.

I was too lazy to change my purse, but it turned out this exact shade of red actually complimented these degrees of emerald green perfectly. Add a leather biker jacket and combat boots to toughen up the look and you’re good to go.
